"Until We Meet Again, At The Rainbow Bridge"
When Mum contacted me about a newborn photo shoot, she asked me if she could involve their beloved dog Nigel - of course I said yes as I love involving animals! But this one had a special story... Nigel had been living with cancer for over a year, and Mum was hoping he would survive to meet their newborn baby. He did, and although he wasn't well, he was such a good boy during the photo shoot. He did everything we asked of him to capture special memories for his family.
Hearing this story, I thought long and hard for months about something special I could create for Mum & Dad - and this is what I came up with!
For those who aren't familiar, this is the poem of The Rainbow Bridge:
There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth. It is called Rainbow Bridge because of its many splendid colors. Just this side of Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows, hills, and valleys with lush, green grass. When beloved pets die, they go to this place. There is always food and water and warm spring weather. The old and frail animals are young again. Those who are maimed are made whole again. They play all day with each other. There is only one thing missing. They are not with their special person who loved them on earth. So each day they run and play. Until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up!
The nose twitches. The ears are up! The eyes are staring. And this one suddenly runs from the group. You have been seen! And when you and your special friend meet, you take him in your arms and embrace. Your face is kissed again and again and again, and you look once more more into the eyes of your trusting pet. Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together... Never again to be separated.
Sadly, Nigel passed away only a week after this photo was taken. I truly believe he was holding out to meet his new friend Darius. Thank You so much Mum & Dad for trusting me to do this for you. There was a lot of work in Photoshop to create this, and I know you had no idea what I was up to during the photo shoot! It's always so lovely when customers put their full trust in you to create something special for them.
